LCDP understands the importance of supporting the community in which we live. Our winter warm packs have helped many families and individuals in need, and our games evening has become a regular event that brings people together. We are committed to making a positive contribution to people's lives, and we are proud of the work we do. Our volunteers have also used our warm space to learn how to sew and make draught excludes to help homes stay warm.
LCDP - Community Matters

At LCDP, we believe in making a real difference in people’s lives. That’s why we are thrilled to be partnering with the National Grid on our latest project, which helps families save money on their utility bills. Through this project, we have provided essential items such as radiator foil, radiator keys, and draught excluders to our community, making it easier for them to stay warm and comfortable all winter long.
LCDP Senior Festive Lunches

At LCDP, our senior citizens hold a special place in our hearts. This year, thanks to Levelling Up funding, we ran a project called LCDP Senior Festive Lunches where we provided free festive lunches for seniors in our community during November and December. For six weeks, we serve over 130 dinners and desserts, providing a joyful atmosphere with games such as bingo, and bringing a smile to all their faces. Our aim is to spread love and kindness to the seniors in our community who have contributed so much throughout their lives.
Santa's Workshop in the Garden

Our most recent event was a Santa's Grotto that attracted over 80 children and their families! We are proud to provide opportunities for families to come together, connect and create memories. From a reindeer trail to making reindeer food, we created a magical winter wonderland where children could meet Santa and make a wish on our wish tree. This is just a glimpse of what we do at LCDP, and we continue to make a positive and lasting impact on our community.
RCT Santa Toy Appeal & Senior Gift Bags

We are committed to supporting our local community through charitable efforts. One of our most recent initiatives was the RCT Toy Appeal, which we have supported for two years in a row. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated gifts from our Amazon Wishlist. Together, we were able to brighten the holidays for countless families in need. Our senior gift bag appeal was also a great success, with a special thanks for the generous contributions from Church Village Rainbows. Together, we were able to ensure that many older adults in our community received thoughtful gifts over the festive season.

At LCDP, we are dedicated to helping those in need within our community. Our Winter hub offers a variety of workshops, including sewing, where our volunteers learn new skills and create items that will benefit the community. Through these workshops, we foster a sense of community and togetherness, providing a warm and welcoming space for everyone. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact on our community and help those who need it most. Through funding, we have been able to purchase sewing machines and fabric to create draught excluders, and we have recycled the filling from old cushions for the inners to reduce landfill and carbon emissions.

Thanks to the generous support of CBRE, staff and Levelling Up funding, LCDP has been able to make significant progress on our community garden shed. We were able to complete an ambitious project that benefits all our community. One of our most recent successes was the completion of our outdoor learning classroom and shelter, which was made possible thanks to generous donations and the hard work of our volunteers. It’s great to be able to create a better, more connected community.

LCDP are committed to creating a better tomorrow for our community. Our recent Levelling Up Fund allowed us to run Halloween workshops from our Community Garden. These projects have brought people together and created positive change. We are also working to reduce landfill waste and improve sustainability. Join us in making a difference!

Our team of volunteers are currently transforming a space of land in Brynna to create a welcoming community garden for everyone to enjoy. With the support of Keep Wales Tidy we have been lucky to have guidance, support and resources to help us get started. Take a look a our gallery here.
LCDP Reindeer Trail

During December 2022 9 wooden reindeers reindeers were made by the B-Leaf Project and delivered to us at LCDP. Each reindeer was named and sponsored by a local business and then placed in the village. A map was created and a social media page helping people find the reindeers, and we had lots of selection boxes as prizes for those who found them all.

Every August we celebrate National Play Day. It 's a great opportunity for the community to come together and play. The day is always free for everyone and the LCDP team work hard behind the scenes fundraising to make this happen. Our Play Day this year welcomed over 1,250 people into the event. Take a peak here.
Halloween Spooky Walk

On Friday 28th October 2022, LCDP organised their first Halloween Spooky Walk over in Brynna Woods. The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales very kindly allowed us to decorate part of their woodland area to welcome over 500 people from the community to walk through the woods and meet our volunteers from Spectacle Theatre. There was scares for all ages, a fire pit, freaky milkshake workshop, lots of lights and photo opportunities - all for FREE.
